Friday, November 17, 2006 Toronto Makes Thomas a Blue JayThe Blue Jays have announced the signing of designated hitter Frank Thomas to a two-year, $18 million contract. The 17-year veteran played last season with the Oakland Athletics, and was selected by the Major League Baseball Players Association as Comeback Player of the Year. With a great young core can Thomas be the Vet leader they need to compete in the AL East. Add another pitcher and this team is close to challenging the AL Central for the Wild Card.
I agree with you Bryan. I think this team needs to stay healty too...especially the pitching staff. But I like what's coming together in Toronto.
So nice to see a team at least trying to compete with New York and Boston. Hopefully this and more moves makes the AL East a bit more interesting this year in terms of competition.
