More Braves News...Option on Smoltz Picked Up

ATLANTA - The Atlanta Braves announced today that they have exercised the option on the contract of right-handed pitcher John Smoltz for the 2007 season. Executive Vice President and General Manager John Schuerholz informed Smoltz of the decision Wednesday afternoon in Washington, D.C., and the transaction was completed when Schuerholz returned to Atlanta today.
