Saturday, August 19, 2006 Sox DFA Seanez
The Boston Red Sox today recalled righthander Jermaine Van Buren from Triple-A Pawtucket of the International League. Van Buren will wear #46 and be in uniform for this afternoon's game with the New York Yankees at Fenway Park. To make room for Van Buren, righthanded pitcher Rudy Seanez has been designated for assignment.
This is an interesting move for the Sox. I wouldn't be surprised to see Seanez wind up in Atlanta. After all, he had planned to go to the Braves this off-season before signing a more lucrative deal with the Red Sox. posted by Joe Hamrahi at 2:33 PM |
