Padres Make Two Moves for the Stretch Run

The San Diego Padres today acquired left-handed pitcher David Wells from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. Executive Vice President/General Manager Kevin Towers made the announcement.

The Padres then signed right-handed pitcher
Rudy Seanez for the remainder of the 2006 season.

Not bad moves since they are costing San Diego next to nothing.
