Saturday, August 19, 2006 Giants OFFICIALLY Sign Villalona
The San Francisco Giants have signed highly regarded and much sought-after 16-year-old third baseman Angel Villalona from the Dominican Republic, club Senior Vice President and General Manager Brian Sabean announced today.
A native of La Romana in the Dominican Republic, the 6-2, 210-pound Villalona was heavily scouted by all of Major League Baseball. He was signed by both Rick Ragazzo, the Giants' Director of International Operations, and Pablo Peguero, the club's Director of Dominican Republic Operations. posted by Joe Hamrahi at 9:25 PM |
