Friday, July 28, 2006 Brewers Ring in Bell![]() Philadelphia, PA - Veteran third baseman David Bell was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers for 22-year-old right-handed pitcher Wilfrido Laureano, Vice President & General Manager Pat Gillick announced after tonight's game. The 33-year-old Bell was in his fourth season with the Phillies. He is eligible for free agency after the season. He hit .278 with six home runs and 34 RBI in 91 games. Laureano (Laur-i-ano) was 3-2 with one save and a 3.96 ERA in 29 relief appearances for Charleston, WV, in the single-A South Atlantic League. He struck out 62 batters in 63.2 innings, while allowing 54 hits and 36 walks. Opponents were hitting .218 against him.
